I have an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology and a Diploma in Counselling from the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London , validated by the University of Middlesex. I worked for several years as a counsellor for a local mental health charity and now work in private practice to the North of Cambridge, in Waterbeach village.
I trained as a counsellor after a long career in education where I worked as a teacher and senior leader in schools, in the local authority SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) service and as a lecturer in Further Education.
Since qualifying as a counsellor I have continued to learn and develop my practice integrating a range of approaches in my work including somatic experiencing and mindfulness cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. I am currently completing an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy at the Psychosynthesis Trust in London.
I will listen with attention and depth to what is troubling you and help you consider your choices. Through building a trusting relationship we can work together to identify patterns from the past which may be limiting you in experiencing life more fully and work towards finding more inner ground and open up to life in a different way.
As well as talking, our work may include paying attention to what your body may be experiencing, dreams, intuition and using the imagination which allows what we are usually not aware of to speak and guide us. I am inspired by the natural world, the creative arts and story.
