About Me

I have an MA in Psychosynthesis Psychology and a Diploma in Counselling from the Institute of Psychosynthesis in London , validated by the University of Middlesex. My experience includes several years working for a local mental health charity as well as having a private practice just outside Cambridge in Waterbeach village.

I trained as a counsellor after a long career in education where I worked as a Nursery teacher, in special educational needs and as a lecturer in Further Education. Since qualifying as a counsellor I have continued to learn and develop my practice integrating a range of approaches in my work including somatic experiencing and mindfulness cognitive behavioural therapy techniques.

My approach to therapy is concerned with listening deeply to the individual and responding in a way which values them and what they bring. Many of my clients come to see me as a result of upheavals or change in their lives brought about by a physical illness, a relationship breakdown, bereavement or work related issues. I will listen with attention and depth to what is troubling you and help you consider your choices. Through building a trusting relationship we can work together to identify patterns from the past which may be limiting you in experiencing life more fully and work towards finding more inner ground and open up to life in a different way.

I will work alongside you. As well as talking, our work may include paying attention to what your body may be experiencing, dreams, intuition and using the imagination which allows what we are usually not aware of to speak and guide us. I am inspired by the natural world, the creative arts and story. We will take what inspires you and weave this into our work together. I look forward to a journey together,
